EmdoorXR Completes First-Batch Shipment of AI Camera Glasses for Jio, India’s Largest Operator

EmdoorVR Technology Co., Ltd.) has completed first-batch mass production and shipment of AI camera glasses custom-built for Jio, India’s largest telecom operator. The product will reach the Indian market through Jio’s channels and ecosystem.

Jio serves more than 500 million users and has long pursued one idea: bring frontier technology to the widest audience at an affordable price. In 2021, Jio launched an affordable smartphone with Google; this year, it unveiled its own AI glasses brand, pairing HD capture with a multimodal AI assistant and real-time translation across multiple Indian languages. The glasses are widely seen as the high-value alternative to Meta Ray-Ban in India.

Operator products must fit the operator’s users and local ecosystem. Built for India’s specific needs, these AI camera glasses were the result of six months of deep collaboration between the two companies’ hardware and software teams. On the functional side, the teams tackled localized wake-word customization, noise-robust pickup in complex environments, deep integration with Jio’s platform, and adaptation of local AI models. On system performance, the teams worked with the customer on end-to-end cloud-to-device tuning for India’s hot climate and high-frequency usage, covering thermal management, transmission latency, and power management.

For cross-border collaboration, the two sides also built an efficient software collaboration system, spanning code repository management, cross-time-zone issue tracking with closed-loop handling, and rapid feedback from on-site testing in India. The system keeps overseas development and local validation tightly connected, and sets a reusable playbook for future cross-border projects.

EmdoorXR’s role is to turn the design into a mass-producible device. From structural design and imaging tuning to yield and delivery timing, each step determines whether the product reaches a 500-million-user market on schedule.
